Equine Services
Equine medicine and reproduction.
Tri-State Veterinary Hospital provides wellness, dentistry, lameness evaluation, and a full reproduction program for horses across Northwest Oklahoma. Reproductive services are led by Dr. Alena Comstock and include breeding soundness exams, artificial insemination, embryo transfer, and foaling care.

Reproduction Program
Full-season reproductive services.
Reproductive services for mares and stallions: breeding soundness examinations, artificial insemination compatible with chilled-transported and cryopreserved semen shipments, ultrasound-guided cycle management, and attended foaling.

Breeding Soundness Examination (BSE)
Pre-season mare evaluation including transrectal ultrasonography and uterine assessment.
Artificial Insemination (AI)
On-site processing and intrauterine deposition. Compatible with chilled-transported and cryopreserved semen shipments.
Cycle Management
Follicular monitoring and ovulation timing via serial ultrasound to schedule insemination.
Embryo Recovery & Transfer
Non-surgical uterine flush, embryo identification, and transfer to recipient mares.
Stallion Semen Evaluation
Collection, motility and morphology evaluation, and processing.
Foaling Services
Attended foaling and dystocia management at the clinic.
Neonatal Care
IgG assessment, supportive care, and colostrum or milk-replacer protocols for newborn foals.
On-Site Diagnostics
In-house testing with same-day results.
Coggins (EIA) Testing
Coggins testing on site.
The Coggins test screens horses for Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA). We run Coggins testing in-house, with same-day or next-day results available for travel, sale, and event requirements.
EIA has no vaccine and no treatment, so testing remains the primary disease-control tool. Health certificates can be issued alongside Coggins as needed.
Equine Progesterone Testing
Cycle-timing diagnostics.
In-house progesterone testing supports accurate cycle timing during the breeding season, allowing artificial insemination to be scheduled with confidence.
Integrated with breeding management and AI services as part of the full reproduction program.
